الملخص:
ظهرت في الجزيرة الفراتية قبيلة عربية وهي الحمدانية، وامتاز هؤلاء بقوتهم ودورهم الفعال في التصدي للبيزنطيين، وخاضوا ضدهم حروباً کثيرة وخاصة في عهد سيف الدولة الحمداني، ولقوته لجأ البيزنطيون إلى طلب الصلح في بعض الأحيان، أما في عهد خلفاء سيف الدولة فقد تغير الحال وارتموا في أحضان الدولة البيزنطية تارة والفاطمية تارة أخرى لضعفهم عن مواجهة أعدائهم.
وقد تناول البحث العلاقات الحمدانية البيزنطية في عهد سيف الدولة الحمداني، والمراحل الأولى للهدن والمواثيق بين الطرفين في عهده وأيضاً الهدن والمواثيق بين الطرفين في عهد خلفاءه.
 
Abstract:
In the island off fattier appeared an Arab tribe, which is Hamdanih and distinguished by their strength and their effective role in dealing with the Byzantines and fought against them many wars, especially during the Raign of Saif al-Dawah Al-Hamdani and his strength, the Byzantines resorted to the request for reconciliation in some cases but the change in era of the successor of the sword of the state who were planted in the embrace of the Byzantine state and the Fatimied state at other times to the weak on the face of an enemy.
The study dealt with the relations of Hamdania –Byzantine in the era of Saif al-Dawah al –Hamdania and the initial stages of the Hudna and the covenants between the two parties in the era of his successors.
