لا غرو أن التقدم العلمي الهائل أسهم بدور بارز في تزايد الاهتمام بعلم المصطلح، والتي أمست دراسته أمرًا مهمًا وضروريًا؛ وذلك لارتباطه بمختلف فروع العلم والمعرفة، فكل علم له مفرداته الخاصة الموضحة لكنهه وأسراره ورموزه، وهذه المفردات هي ما يطلق عليه "المصطلح". وعلى الرغم من حداثة اللغة الأردية نسبيًا، إلا إنها سرعان ما أخذت في التطور والرقي نظرًا لما تتسم به من مرونة وطبيعة تساعدها جيدًا على ذلك، الأمر الذي أسفر عن استيعابها العديد من المصطلحات التي تستجد تباعًا وفق مختلف الآليات الخاصة بالتطور اللغوي والنمو المصطلحي التي تلجأ إليها. ومن هنا تنبع أهمية هذه الدراسة التي تتناول المصطلحات الأدبية في اللغة الأردية من خلال كتاب "ادبى اصطلاحات: المصطلحات الأدبية" موضوع الدراسة، وكذا طرق وآليات وضع هذه المصطلحات. هذا من حيث الموضوع، أما عن أهمية الكتاب موضوع الدراسة فإنه يستمدها بطبيعة الحال من مؤلفه الأستاذ الدكتور "انور جمال" الكاتب والناقد الأدبي الباكستاني، والمؤلف للعديد من الكتب الأردية في هذا المجال. ووفقًا لطبيعة الدراسة فقد اعتمدت على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج أبرزها تعدد طرق وآليات وضع المصطلح الأدبي في الأردية والتي تنوعت ما بين التركيب، والاقتراض اللغوي، والإلصاق، والترجمة، الأمر الذي يعد عاملًا إيجابيًا لوضع المصطلح بصورة تحافظ على خصائصه ومفهومه.
No doubt that great scientific progress contributed to a prominent role in the growing interest in terminology, the study of which has become important and necessary. This is due to its association with the various branches of knowledge. Each field has its own vocabulary that explains its secrets and symbols, and these vocabularies are what is called "term". Despite the relatively newness of the Urdu language, it quickly began to develop due to its flexibility and nature that helps it well in that, which resulted in its absorption of many terms that emerge successively according to the various mechanisms of linguistic development and terminological growth that it resorts to. Hence the importance of this study, which deals with literary terms in the Urdu language through the book "Literary Terms", as well as the mechanisms of developing these terms. As for the importance of the book, it derives from its author, Prof. Dr. Anwar Jamal, the Pakistani writer and literary critic, and the author of many Urdu books in this field. The study depended on the (descriptive and analytical) method. Among the most important results of this study was that the multiplicity of mechanisms for developing the literary term in Urdu, which varied between syntax, linguistic borrowing, affixation, and translation, which is a positive factor for developing the term in a way that preserves its characteristics and concept.
