Text Editing (Improvement) as a Strategy in Translation In light of the Arabic translation of Johann Fück’s book “Arabiya. Studies on Language, Dialects and Styles” done by Dr. Abdel Halim Al Naggar

تحسين النص کاستراتيجية فى الترجمة. فى ضوء ترجمة

الملخص:
فى کتابهما "تحسين النص. قضية جعل النصوص أکثر فهماً کمشکلة لغوية ونفسية وتطبيقية"  يبرز المؤلفان جيرد أنتوس وجيرهارد أوجوست حقيقة هامة تقول بأن "تحسين النص يعد ممارسة يومية لا غنى عنها عند صياغة أى عبارة". وهذا الفعل يأخذ مکان الصدارة لدى الکتاب المحترفين، وخاصة المترجمين منهم. (انتوس/أوجوست 1989، ص 2)
ومن هنا يهدف البحث لتحديد أشکال تحسين النص المختلفة فى ترجمة النجار وتصنيفها کاستراتيجيات لعملية الترجمة. وبناءً على ما يتوصل اليه البحث من نتائج، يفترض اعداد مخزون من هذه الاستراتيجيات المحسنة للنص والتى يمکن تفعيلها والاستفادة منها بوجه عام فى عملية الترجمة.
وفى مطلع البحث تلقى الباحثة الضوء على مصطلح تحسين النص وبعض نظريات النص ونماذج افهام النص التى تدعم منهج الترجمة عند النجار وتجعل من السهل تتبعه وتنفيذه.
ففى أثناء قراءتى لترجمة د. عبد الحليم النجار اتضح فى العديد من المواضع أن المترجم يتبع اجراءات معينة من شأنها برأيى تحسين النص وجعله مفهوماً بشکل کبير. وهذا مايود البحث إيضاحه تفصيلاً واستبيانه من خلال عدة حالات. نذکر منها على سبيل المثال: الاستخدام الوظيفى للمترادفات، الجمل والفهارس الشارحة وأدوات الوصل وغيرها.
 وسيتم تدعيم هذه التصنيفات والأساليب المنهجية من خلال أمثلة من الترجمة ومناقشتها عملياً ثم تحليلها فيما يخص قضية تحسين النص المطروحة.
In their book “Text Editing (Improvement): the understanding of texts as a linguistic, psychological and practical problem”, the two authors, Gerd Antos & Gerhard Augst, present an important fact saying that “text editing (improvement) is a daily practice that can’t be ignored when making any sentence”. This practice is of a great importance for professional writers, especially those who are also translators (Antos/August, 1989, P. 2).
Hence, this research aims at determining the different forms of text editing (improvement) used in Al Naggar’s translation and classifying them as strategies for the translation process. Depending on the research outcomes, a collection of such strategies improving the texts should be made, and can be used and utilized in the translation process in general.
At the beginning of the research, the researcher sheds light on the term “text editing (improvement), some text theories and examples for making the text understandable which supports the translation methodology used by Al Naggar and makes it easy to trace and apply.
Through her reading for the translation of Dr. Abdel Halim Al Naggar, she found that in many positions the translator follows certain procedures which, in her opinion, lead to the improvement of the text and make it greatly understandable. This is what the research wants to clarify and explain in detail through different cases. For example, the functional usage of collocations, sentences, indexes, connectives and else.
Such classifications and methodical techniques will be supported by examples from the translation which will be practically discussed and then analyzed in light of the presented text editing (improvement) issue.
