      تهتم هذه الدراسة ببيان غاية الدين الإسلامي وحرصه على التعايش السلمى مع المخالفين فى الشريعة دون النظر إلى شرائعهم ، والتعامل معهم بمعايير المساواة بينهم ، وإظهار موقف الإسلام في أنه أباح عقد المعاهدات معهم  ، کما  تتناول الحديث عن العهد في القرآن الکريم والسنة النبوية ، وتلقي الضوء على مشروعية المعاهدات في الإسلام مع غير المسلمين ، وشروط ذلک وضوابطه ، والأثار المترتبة عليها ، ثم تهتم بذکر صوراً ونماذج من المعاهدات الإسلامية على عهد النبي- صلى الله عليه وسلم -، کما تهتم بذکر عهد عمر بن الخطاب رضى الله عنه لأهل إيلياء (بيت المقدس) في المصادر المختلفة ، وذلک مثل : رواية اليعقوبي ، والطبري ، وابن قيم الجوزية ، والقلقشندي ، والطبري  ، ثم تهتم بتحليل نص عهد عمر لأهل إيلياء " وفق الروايات المختلفة التي وردت في عدد من المصادر والمراجع ، مع عقد مقارنة بينها ، وبيان الصواب منها ، وغير الصواب.

It also discusses the talk of the Covenant in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and highlights the legitimacy of treaties in Islam with non-Muslims, terms and that controls, and effects Implications on its, And then interested in mentioning images and models of Islamic treaties at the time of the Prophet - peace be upon him, It is also interested in mentioning the era of Omar ibn al-Khattab may Allah be pleased with him to the people of Ailia (Jerusalem) in different sources, Such as: the novel of Jacobi, Tabri, Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyah, Qalqashandi, and Tabari, And then interested in analyzing the text of the age of the people of Illia "according to the various narratives, which appeared in a number of sources and references, , with a comparison between them, and the statement of right of them, and is not right.
