الملخص:
يهدف البحث لمعالجة بعض النقاط المهمة، والتي تمثل محاولة للتعويض – قدر الاستطاعة – عن جفاف المصادر التاريخية المثير للأسى، حول ديوان الوثائق والسجلات ودوره الحضاري في مصر إبان المُدة المحددة للدراسة. بدأت في هذا الموضوع ببيان مفهوم التوثيق، وأهميته، ثم تناولت "ديوان الوثائق والسجلات العامة"؛ من خلال نشأته، وإدارة العمل به، والإشراف على الوثائق والسجلات من الناحيتين: الإدارية، والفنية، ودَور أمناء السجلات، وأعوانهم في تسلُّم الوثائق، وتبويبها، وترتيبها داخل الديوان، فضلًا عن مراجعتها، وحفظها، ثم أردفت الحديث عن: نفقات، وإيرادات هذا الديوان. بعدها ذكرت "نظام التوثيق بديوان الوثائق والسجلات"، وفيه عالجت بعض النقاط المهمة منها: طُرز (ديباجات) الوثائق والسجلات، ولغتها التي صُدرت بها تلك السجلات، وأهمية هذه الطُرز، ثم ختمت الحديث عن: أسلوب، وطريقة تحرير الوثيقة والسجلات.
Abstract:
This research aims to address some important issues about the Diwan of Documentations and Archives and its cultural role in Egypt during the study's specified period. The research defines the concept of documentation and its importance. comes under the title "The Diwan of Public Documentations and Archives" which includes its rise management of work at the Diwan, administrative and technical supervision of the documentations  and archives, the role of archivists and their assistants in receiving, classifying and arranging documentations inside the Diwan in addition to revising and keeping them. The research then discusses the expenses and revenues of this Diwan. After that the research discusses "The Documentation System at the Diwan of Documentations and Archives" where it addressed some important issues including the protocols (turuz) of documentations and archives, their original language, and their importance. The research concluded with the methods of editing these documentations and archives.
